PROCEDURE
Portraits are drawn from photos. You may submit your photos by mail or email. More than one photo is preferred, just specify which one is your favorite. The photo could be any size as long as it is clear. The quality of the photo contributes to the quality of the portrait. Look for details and shadows. An indication of a good photo is the presence of eye details. Too much or too little shadow is not good. It is very important that you send the best photo you have, keeping in mind that the photo will be reproduced as a piece of art that will pass from generation to generation. A serious expression is preferred for a hand drawn portrait.
NOT ALL PHOTOS WILL BE ACCEPTED
Once you submit your photo, I will examine it and will contact you to inform you if I can work with the photo or will need a new one. Some photos may be of good quality, but may not be accepted because the pose will not make a good portrait drawing.
A 30% deposit is required to start the drawing. I will keep you posted on the progress of the portrait. I try to make the portrait as close to the photo as possible, and try to capture as much of the personality of the individual as possible. My work is free-hand, not traced or a photo enhancement.
100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEED
A digital copy or scanned copy of the completed portrait will be emailed to you for your approval. Some adjustments may be requested. The balance is due after you have approved the portrait. If you are not satisfied with the final drawing, your deposit will be returned. I will not accept a second request or a new photo if you are not satisfied with the first portrait.
GIFTS
If the portrait is a gift, you may request delivery to another address, a note added and gift wrapping.
Gift Certificates Available
For payments of $100 and over - If you are not ready to make the full payment when the portrait is completed, you may request a payment plan.
Most commissioned portraits of people, houses and pets will be accepted including drawings of landscape and still life.
Portraits or drawings with religious, political, nudity, romantic themes and violence will not be accepted.
